Caribbean Current

The Caribbean flow is a warm ocean current in the Caribbean.

It arises mainly from the warm waters of the Atlantic South Equatorial Current and parts of the North Equatorial current. She passes the northern coast of South America in Venezuela to the northwest at a flow rate of 0.2 m / s, then turns northward through the Yucatánstraße ( 0.8 m / s) (from here the flow is also called Yucatanstrom ) and further to the east where it becomes the Florida current between Cuba and Florida, making it the main source of water of the Gulf Stream.
