Carl Otto von Madai

Karl Otto von Madai (* May 29, 1809 in Zscherben, † June 4, 1850 in Gießen ) was a German legal scholar who taught at the University of Halle and the University of Dorpat.

He is the grandson of the privy councilor and physician Carl August von Madai. Madai went to high school in Thorn and Potsdam. In 1828 he began to study theology in Halle, but changed very soon to skilled in law. In 1832 he earned his doctorate at the University of Halle with the thesis De stellionatu a doctorate in law.
