Carla Beurskens

Carla Beurskens (actually Carolina Alwina Hubertina Beurskens; * February 15, 1952 in Tegelen ) is a former Dutch long-distance runner.

On the train she put three Dutch records in 5000 - ( last 27 June 1985 in Oslo with 15:46,20 ) and three in the 10,000 -meter run on ( 32:28,28 last on 27 July 1985 in Oslo). Six times she was Dutch champion in cross-country running.

However, their real strength lay in the road race and they presented here three national records over 10 km (most recently in 1987 with 32:34 ), two about 15 km (most recently in 1986 with 48:36, still valid ), three in the half marathon (most recently in 1990 with 1:10:04, still valid ) to a currently valid with 1:27:10 for the 25 km from Berlin in 1989 and four times in the marathon. Your personal best of 2:26:34, achieved as the Second Tokyo International Women's Marathon 1987 was surpassed by Lornah Kiplagat at the New York City Marathon in 2003.

In 1981, she won her first marathon at the Dutch Championship in Kijkduin. 1984 and 1990 she won the Rotterdam Marathon in 1994 and was third in 1995. In 1985, she won the Frankfurt Marathon and the 1987 Nagoya Marathon. They also won in 1985 when Greifenseelauf and 1990 at the Grand Prix of Bern.

Eight times they won from 1985 to 1994 the Honolulu Marathon. Except Grete Waitz with their nine wins at the New York City Marathon has dominated at one of the big city marathons such no other runner.

Also well up, she landed at the Osaka Women's Marathon (second place in 1982 and 1985), the Paris Marathon (Second 1984), the Chicago Marathon (Fourth in 1985 and second in 1989 ), Boston Marathon (Second 1986), the Berlin- Marathon (third in 1990 ) and the Amsterdam Marathon (Second 1993).

In 1997 she won the Enschede Marathon in 2:37:20 with 45 years of her last marathon.
