Carlisle Trost

Carlisle Albert Herman Trost ( born April 24, 1930 in Valmeyer, Illinois ) was from 1953 to 1990 an officer of the United States Navy. In 1953 he graduated from the military academy of the Navy (United States Naval Academy ). After Various Uses of a U- boat commander, he was from 1980 to 1981 Commander, Seventh Fleet and 1985-1986 Commander -in- Chief, U.S. Atlantic Fleet. From 1 July 1986 to 29 June 1990, he was 23 Chief of Naval Operations (CNO ), and thus a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (ter club [ ig ] General Staff ).
