Carlo Schäfer
Carlo Shepherd (actually Karl Christoph Schäfer) ( born January 2, 1964 in Heidelberg ) is a German author of detective novels.
Life
Carlo Shepherd grew up as the youngest of three children in Pforzheim, his father was a Protestant pastor. After graduation Schäfer studied in Heidelberg first German at the University, but soon moved to the College of Education. After graduation, he worked for ten years as a secondary school teacher in Mannheim. Since 2003, Schäfer is a lecturer at the University of Education in Heidelberg (Institute for German Language and Literature and its didactics).
Shepherd has also performed as a musician and comedian. Nationally known he was, however, from 2002 as a crime writer.
His protagonist, the first Chief Commissioner Theuermann, is an equally brooding as disillusioned mid - fifties who has now achieved with its fluctuating between apathy and over-motivation teammates Haffner, Leidig, Stern and mustard five literary documented cases.
His novels are characterized by a differentiated, sometimes experimental language. They also live by a precisely observed Palatine local color, the descriptions of the atmosphere at venues in Heidelberg and Mannheim.
