Carlos Cavazo
Carlos Cavazo ( born July 8, 1957 in Mexico City) is an American musician and guitarist. He was from the early 1980s to 2001, a member of the American heavy metal band Quiet Riot and belongs since 2008 to the hard rock band Ratt.
Background
The guitarist co-founded with his brother Antonio Cavazo in Mexico City his first band "Speed of Light". Later, both moved together to Los Angeles, where she the band " Snow" founded with drummer Stephen Quadros and singer Doug Ellison, which occurred regularly in the Whisky a Go Go and the Starwood Club. The group released an album.
Carlos Cavazo obtained from 1982 as a guitarist of Quiet Riot international notoriety. With this group he released eight albums, including the biggest success of the band, Metal Health owned. This record reached # 1 on the 1983 Billboard 200 and has sold over six million copies to date. Metal Health is considered the first heavy metal album that the top of the American album charts reached. Cavazo was involved in the songwriting of five of the ten songs on the album.
During his time at Cavazo Quiet Riot in 1985 together with the other band members part of the Hear 'n Aid project, which was initiated by Ronnie James Dio, Vinny Appice and Vivian Campbell. Cavazo played together with George Lynch, the fifth of the recorded guitar solo for the song Stars project and participated in the choir for the sung by all participating musicians chorus of the title.
Cavazo left Quiet Riot in 2001 and became a member of supergroup 3 Legged Dog. This group included drummer Vinny Appice next to him ( Black Sabbath, Dio ), bassist Jimmy Bain ( Dio, Kate Bush), vocalist Chas West ( Lynch Mob, Bonham ) and guitarist Brian Young at. The group released only one album, but with which it was able to record any commercial success.
2008 Cavazo John Corabi replaced as a guitarist with the group Ratt, which he published in 2010 the album Infestation.
