Carlos di Laura

Carlos di Laura (* October 19, 1964 in Lima ) is a former Peruvian tennis player.

Life

Di Laura attended Pepperdine University, for which he took up in duplicate and was able to win on the side of Kelly Jones the NCAA doubles title. At the 1984 Summer Olympics in he went to the demonstration in tournaments for players under the age of 21, but in which no medals were awarded. In 1985 he became a professional tennis player, first played on the ATP Challenger Tour, where he won his first tournament in 1986 in Porto Alegre. He also won at the side of Sweden Ronnie Bathman in the doubles competition of Messina.

In the same year he stood for the first time in a doubles final of an ATP tournament. His first of three tournament victories in a double he achieved in 1987 on the side of Javier Sánchez. His best individual result at Grand Slam tournaments was to qualify for the first round of the French Open 1986. 1989 he reached with Ronnie Bathman the semifinals of the French Open. Through this semi-finals he improved this year to position 29 in the double world rankings. His high for the individual he had with position 1986 92

Di Laura played 1981-1993 eleven singles and 14 doubles matches for the Peruvian Davis Cup team. With two exceptions, was his doubles partner always Jaime Yzaga.

In the years 1981, 1982 and 1983 he won the Peruvian tennis championship in singles competition.
