Carlos Hernández (footballer)

Carlos Hernández Valverde ( born April 9, 1982 in La Pastora ) is a Costa Rican football player.

Hernandez, who grew up in the province of San José, was discovered in his youth by the Capital club LD Alajuelense and brought into the team. He was 19 years old his Erstligadebüt and has since been one the most successful club of the last decade. In addition to three state championships they won in his time, the Central American club championship, the CONCACAF Champions Cup 2004.

Since his youth, he already played in the different country selections. With the U20 2001 he took part in the Junior World Championships in Argentina and with the U-23 Olympic team, he was present at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. In the same year, his first assignment for the Costa Rican national team came. The committee strong midfielder who is known for his brisk Long Shots, playing regularly ever since for his country, scoring important goals, among others, in the successful qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany. There he was placed in the World Cup squad Costa Rica.

In 2007 he was awarded to Melbourne Victory in Australia. He wore in the 2008/2009 season significantly to winning the championship in Melbourne and on page one now tried everything Hernández to commit firmly. Hernandez, however, opted for a change to India Prayag United SC.

In the summer of 2013 he moved back to the A- League, where he signed a contract with the New Zealand representative Wellington Phoenix.
