Carlos Jiménez Mabarak

Carlos Jiménez Mabarak ( born January 31, 1916 in Tacuba, † June 21, 1994 in Mexico City) was a Mexican composer.

Life

Jiménez Mabarak was a piano student of Jesús Castillo, then studied at the Conservatory of Santiago de Chile, at the Institute for higher musical studies in Brussels and Brussels was a student of Charles van der Borren at the university. In Paris, he continued his education with René Leibowitz. From 1942 he taught at the conservatory in Mexico City and composition at the Art School of Villahermosa harmony.

Works

He composed two operas ( Misa de seis, 1962, La Güera, 1982), ten ballets, incidental music, three symphonies, a concerto for piano, timpani, xylophone and percussion, chamber music piano music, choral music and songs.
