Carlos Loiseau

Caloi (actually Carlos Loiseau, born November 9, 1948 in Salta, † 8 May 2012 in Adrogué, Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine cartoonist and caricaturist.

Caloi 1966 worked at Tía Vicenta and was since 1967 as a freelance cartoonist and caricaturist. He became known in 1973 with his figure of Clemente. He was a presenter of the TV series " Caloi en su tinta " in the TV station Channel 7 He was the creator of the characters La Mulatona, Mimí, Alexis, Bartolo el Clementosaurio, el hincha de Camerún.

Background of his work was the confrontation with existential problems of the people and the artistic accomplishment of topics hunger, class differences, abandonment, lack of education, problems with children, etc.

He has won several awards, including 2003 in the Media Award Martín Fierro and 2009 honorary citizen of Buenos Aires.
