Carmen (Band)

Carmen was an Anglo-American rock band of the 1970s.

History

The music of Carmen is a mixture of progressive rock and flamenco. In their live shows, the band also showed flamenco dancing.

The band released between 1973 and 1976 three of Tony Visconti produced albums. As the opening act of Santana, Blue Öyster Cult, Electric Light Orchestra and Jethro Tull Carmen reached a larger concert audience. Even before the release of their third album The Gypsies, the band broke up, however.
