Carmichael (crater)

19.73

Carmichael is an impact crater on the eastern edge of the Sinus Amoris and is located in the northeast quadrant on the front of the moon. Within a few crater diameter north-northeast is the smaller crater Hill. Continue east-northeast is the conspicuous Macrobius. Carmichael is substantially circular in shape, with a small level in the center of the sloping inner walls. on the southeast crater wall is a low scree. The crater itself is free of noticeable impact record on the edge or in the interior, except for a tiny impact just outside the south- southwestern edge.

Before being renamed by the International Astronomical Union ( IAU) in 1973 Carmichael was the name Macrobius A.
