Carol Bartz

Carol Ann Bartz ( born August 29, 1948 in Winona, Minnesota) is an American manager. Between 2009 and 2011 she served as Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of the Internet company Yahoo.

Life

1971 closed Bartz their studies computer science at the University Wisconsin with a bachelor's degree. In the 1970s she worked for 3M as Systemanalystin. 1976 to 1983 she worked in the marketing of Sun Microsystems, where he became vice president in 1984 for this area. In 1987, she was vice president of worldwide field operations and executive officer at Sun. 1990-1992 Bartz was President, Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) and Chairman of Autodesk, 1992 to April 2006 Executive Chairman. In 2009 she was appointed CEO of Yahoo.

She was a member of the advisory staff of Science and Technology of the U.S. President George W. Bush. She has received three honorary doctorates and in 2009 by Forbes Magazine in the published annually since 2004 list of the 100 most powerful women in the world selected in 12th place. According to Glass Lewis & Co Bartz has been with an annual salary of 39 million dollars ( 27.9 million euros ) listed as a tester on paid CEO in the world.
