Carolyn Maloney

Carolyn B. Maloney ( born February 19, 1946 in Greensboro, North Carolina) is an American politician of the Democratic Party, and since 1993 member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the state of New York.

Biography

Maloney was born in Greenboro. She joined the Greensboro College from their schooling. In 1970 she came to New York City and decided to stay. In 1982, she was elected to the New York City Council ( City Council). Your she served on until 1991 and again in 1992.

She was elected for the 14th New York Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives in 1993. It followed William Green. The district is derived from parts of Manhattan, Queens and Roosevelt Iceland composed. Your seat, she defended in the following elections respectively. She is a member of the Committee on Financial Services and the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform in the House of Representatives. Maloney is a former chairman of the Congress Joint Economic Committee.
