Casa Na Bolom

Na Bolom is a museum in San Cristobal de las Casas in the Mexican state of Chiapas. The name comes from the Tzotzil language, meaning house of the jaguar.

Originally, the building complex, which was built in 1898, a Catholic seminary, later the home of the Danish archaeologist Frans Blom ( 1893-1963 ) and the Swiss anthropologist and photographer Gertrude Duby Blom - ( 1901-1993 ).

They dedicated their lives to the indigenous people of Chiapas and the exploration of their culture. Frans Blom discovered places of worship such as the Maya Palenque, Tonina and Chinkultic. Since her death, her house serves as a museum.
