Casabó

Casabo is a neighborhood ( barrio ) of the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo.

Location

It forms with Pajas Blancas a common district and is located in the southwestern part of the department of Montevideo, at the foot of the western slope of the Cerro de Montevideo. Casabo borders it to the south by the Río de la Plata. To the north and north-west lies the district of Paso de la Arena, while connecting the east Cerro La Paloma. The limits Casabós be from the streets Camino Cibils, Cont. Charcas, Sierra Leona and the Cañada Bajo Valencia formed.

Description

In Casabo, one of the poorer districts of Montevideo, nearly 3,500 families. The district is one of those Montevideo, which are experiencing the greatest population growth in the recent past. Thus, an increase of 22.4 per cent was found for Casabo / Pajas Blancas in the last survey in 2004.
