Casey Benjamin

Casey Benjamin (born 1978 in Queens, New York) is an American saxophonist, keyboardist, songwriter and producer.

Benjamin is from South Jamaica, a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Queens. He attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School and the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in Manhattan. 2002, he joined with DJ Logic at the Montreux Jazz Festival. He also worked with Arto Lindsay, Joe Chambers, Betty Carter and Buster Williams. As a keyboardist, he is a part of the New Wave duo Heavy and produced their album Jazz Money $ $. He currently plays with such diverse musicians such as Q-Tip, Mos Def, Stefon Harris, Marcus Strickland, Robert Glasper and Victor Bailey, with whom he has played concerts at the Leverkusen Jazz Days 2010.
