Cash Cab

The Austrian game show Quiz Taxi Austria is an offshoot of the British game show Cash Cab The participants of the program have the option of answering motley quiz questions to win money. Game rules

As with a normal taxi ride, the candidates call the desired destination, then get these various questions from different areas of general education. Some questions are pictures questions or unknown image and sound sequences in which, for example, the composer or the like is searched. There will also be asked complicated words, in which the participants have to guess the exact spelling. Occasionally, candidates must mutually explain concepts mime, drawing, or talking to a plastic ball in the mouth. For a correct answer, participants will receive a cash prize, which, together with the difficulty steadily increases. Response options such as the Millionaire show do not exist. The first three questions, each worth 20 euros, the following four questions each 50 euros. After the seventh question the candidates can win 100 euros with every response. Indicate the candidates no or an incorrect response, they lose one of their three lives. Lose the game players all the three lives, the candidates get nothing and have to get on the spot out of the taxi.

Joker

Knowledge the candidate not the answer to a question, they can use two jokers:

• Telefonjoker: Candidates can call a taxi using a telephone a person of his choice and can help with the solution.
• Passers Joker: The candidates can contact one or several passers-by who are in the vicinity of the quiz taxis.

Master question

Did the candidate reaches the destination with at least one remaining life, they can leave the taxi with the win; alternatively they can reply to a so-called master question, by which they can double the profit. If the question within a short period are answered incorrectly, the candidate must leave the taxi without profit. The remaining Joker can not be applied.

Locations

The current locations are in Vienna, Graz, Innsbruck and Salzburg. An extension of the venues is planned.

Quiz Taxi eXtrem worked on the same principle as game Quiz Taxi Austria, with the difference that these special editions rotated at night and their tasks were partially supplemented with so-called " extreme tasks." This format also there were passers-by and Telefonjoker in the past but the Joker were adapted to the name. When passers - Joker, the candidates had to hunt for example, on foreign entry doors, ask the cashier at McDrive for help or her question in a lively square in the crowd screaming. The first broadcast was on 23 July 2011, it has always been a double episode Sunday at 22:15 clock shown. Since the start of the second season of Quiz Quiz Taxi Taxi Austria eXtrem is not a standalone program again; it was incorporated into the regular format.
