Caspian (band)

Caspian is an American instrumental post-rock band that was founded in Beverly, Massachusetts, 2003. Since 2005 she has released three albums, two EPs and a 7- inch single on various independent labels.

Band History

After its inception in the fall of 2003 and played a long development phase in August 2004 on a first demo. Then they played in late 2004 and early 2005, a small number of live shows, which they performed as the opening act of the Japanese postrockers Mono. Shortly thereafter she published on Dopamine Records released their debut EP, You Are The Conductor, in November 2005. Was followed in 2006 a tour of the Northeast of America and a 28 dates tour by counting the entire United States. For this tour also appeared the Tour EP, which they released on their own. Within 2 years they played five U.S. tours, during which also the guitarist Erin Burke - Muran joined them, who also plays with The Fly - Sky Agaris.

On April 10, 2007 their debut album The Four Trees also appeared on Dopamine Records, for which she developed in 2006 along with Ethan Dussault material and recordings. The album was re-released in June 2008 by the German record label Make My Day Records. To Apply for this album they played a European and a U.S. tour.

On August 9, was published in 2009 on the same label their second studio album Tertia. For the subsequent tour of Europe, the friend Jonny Ashburn were consulted on the third guitar and Jon McMahan on E -Bass, who represented that prevented personal reasons Calvin Joss and Chris Frederick. Since both belong to the firm Live occupation.

On August 25, 2013 died bassist and founding member Chris Frederick at the age of 33 years.
