History

The colla ( club ) Castel de Vilafranca was founded in September 1948 by Oriol Rossell, he was the first cap de colla (Head of group). The beginnings meant with the construction of the first seven storey Castells and with close ties to other current colles. During these years were cap de colla (Head of group) Oriol Rossell ( 1948-1952 ) and Ramon Sala ( 1953-1955 ) and the color of the shirts was only pink and red later

1956 was the colla due to internal upsets virtually inactive. 1957 a reorganization was carried out and determined the green color for the shirt. Between 1957 and 1968 seven-story Castells were built and the most important success was the de cinc set ( seven floors with five Castellers per floor ). From 1969 to 1974, which colla has made a huge qualitative leap and built the torre de set ( seven-storey tower with two Castellers per floor ) and the first eight-story Castells: the quatre de vuit ( eight floors with four Castellers per floor ) the tres de vuit ( eight floors with three Castellers per floor ), the pilar de sis ( Six storey column with a Castell per floor ) and the torre de vuit amb folre ( eight-story tower with two Castellers per floor, and the support ring to second floor). 1972 Castell competition was won in Tarragona. These years were Cap de Colla (Head of group) Josep Pedrol ( 1957-1959 ), Carles Domènech ( 1960-1961 ), Joan Bolet ( 1962-1963 ), Gabi Martínez ( 1964-1969 ), Lluís Giménez ( 1970-1973 ) and again Gabi Martínez, (1974).

1975 the Colla made a complete internal structural transformation: the previous almost exclusive line of Cap de Colla ( director of the group ) has been replaced by a technical chamber membership team. 1981 is another year to be made in the internal changes: it was decided that the Castellers be paid not individually. This has caused a split in the group. Between 1975 and 1982 the Colla has been able to retain the eight-story Castells, but with quite a few difficulties. 1983 and 1984 were years of its emergence and consolidation of the basic eight-story Castells, but the definite change took place in 1985, with the first reduction of cinc de vuit ( eight floors with five Castellers per floor ). This opened the way to nine -story Castells folrats (second floor with a group surrounded supported): In 1987, the colla the first tres i quatre de nou amb folre established ( nine-story Castells with three or four Castellers per floor and Stützringing to second floor), and 1987 has reduced the first three and the four 1990 the Colla. From 1975 to 1994, the Cap de Colla was (head of group) Carles Domènech.

Between 1995 and 2004 the Colla falls into a spiral of success. This year they have the highest Lenses: construction and dismantling of the torre de nou amb folre i manilles ( nine-storey tower with 2 Castellers per floor, with support ring to second floor and a slightly smaller backup ring to third floor), the pilar de set amb folre ( Seven -storey column with a Castell per floor and the support ring to second floor), the pilar de vuit amb folre i manilles (Eight -storey column with a Castell per floor, with support ring to second floor and a slightly smaller backup ring to third floor) (the first of XX. century ) the de quatre vuit amb l' agulla ( eight floors with four Castellers per floor, and within a column with a Castell per floor ) (the first of the XX. century ), the quatre de nou amb folre i l' agulla ( nine floors with four Castellers per floor and the support ring to second floor, and within a column with a Castell per floor ) ( for the first time in the history of Castellers ), the cinc de nou amb folre ( nine floors with five Castellers per floor and support ring to second floor) and the tres i quatre de nou amb folre simultanis (simultaneously two nine-story Castells with three or four Castellers per floor and the support ring to second floor) ( for the first time in the history of Castellers ), and the structure de Torre de vuit ( eight-story tower with two Castellers per floor ) (the first of XX. Century ), of the quatre de nou ( nine floors with four Castellers per floor ) and the tres de deu amb folre i manilles (ten floors with three Castellers per floor, with support ring to second floor and a slightly smaller backup ring to third floor) ( first time in the history of Castellers ).
