Cataloging in Publication

Cataloging ( called CIP, and occasionally incorrectly as Catalogue or Cataloguing in Publication, Publications and Publishing) in Publication is managed by the United States Library of Congress database of bibliographic information.

In Germany the so-called CIP - unit recording was made until 2002 by the current German National Library. The CIP service was part of the German National and was replaced by the New Release Service. In books you will find today no CIP unit recording more, but stated that the German National Library proofs the work in the German National.
