Caterine Ibargüen

Caterine Ibargüen Mena (born 12 February 1984 in Apartado, Antioquia ) is a Colombian athlete. It occurs in both the three- and in the high and long jump and is in these disciplines adds at least 14 - times national champion.
Her achievements so far she could celebrate in the South championships, but moved mainly by their bronze medal in the triple jump at the World Athletics Championships 2011 in Daegu to the attention of the media world public. In the same year it secured at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara the title in the triple jump and placed third in the long jump. In 2004 she had represented their country even at the Olympic Games in Athens, left there but in high jump well in the qualifier as in the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 and 2009 in Berlin. With a length of 14.80 meters Ibargüen jumped at the Olympic Summer Games 2012 in London the silver medal - with only one centimeter ahead of bronze medal.
Similarly, nearly fell in the following year made also her victory at the world championships 2013 in Moscow, to which they had traveled as Mitfavoritin. With four centimeters ahead of the runner-up, she won the gold medal.
Ibargüen lives and trains in Puerto Rico.
