Catherine Clément

Catherine Clément ( born 1939 in Boulogne- Billancourt ) is a French writer, feminist, philosopher and psychologist.

Clément comes from a Catholic-Jewish family. She studied philosophy and psychology at the Sorbonne, where she taught as a scientific assistant 14 years old. She then worked as a cultural editor of the Paris daily Le Matin. In 1969 she went to the French Ministry of Culture for four years to India. She lived with her husband in Dakar before she returned to Paris. Her brother Jérôme Clément is a board member of the German - French TV channel ARTE.
