Cauayan, Negros Occidental

Cauayan is a metropolitan area municipality in the province of Negros Occidental on the island of Negros in the Philippines. It has 96 921 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 25 barangays. It belongs to the first class of income communities in the Philippines and is described as a partially urbanized.

It is located about 120 km south of Bacolod City. The travel time is about 4 hours by bus, by car about two hours. From Kabankalan City is also possible to travel by jeepney. Your neighboring municipalities are Ilog in the east, Candoni and Sipalay City in the south, the west borders the community to the Sulu Sea, and on the north by the Gulf of Panay. The topography of the municipality is described in the West as hilly to mountainous and falls in the east and north into a broad coastal plain.

The two islands Danjugan Iceland and Bulata Iceland belong to the municipality and are known for their white beaches. You are an attraction for tourists. The Hulao - Hulao Reef is located in Barangay Caliling. It can be reached after a 20-minute boat ride.
