Caucaia

Caucaia is a city in northeastern Brazil, in the state of Ceará with (2007) 316.906 inhabitants at 1227 km ² ( 255.4 inhabitants / km ²).

The Caucaia founded on October 15, 1759 Vila Nova de Soure, the present name was given to the city in 1943, located 16.5 km west-northwest of the capital city of Fortaleza, in the metropolitan area and has eight districts: Caucaia, Bom Principio, Catuana Guararu, jurema, Mirambé, sitios Novos and Tucunduba.

In the northern districts, there are several sand and beaches. The city has in the east, towards Rio Ceará, a larger botanical garden; there is a commercial port and a series of stagnant water.
