Cavalcante

Cavalcante is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Goiás in the mesoregion Northern Goiás and in the micro-region of Chapada dos Veadeiros. It lies north of the Brazilian capital Brasília and Goiânia northeast of the capital.

Cavalcante to include the districts ( Portuguese: distrios ): Arai, Bonito, Estrema, Guaribinha, Passa Três, Prata and São Jose.

Hydrographic location

The hydrographic drained Cavalcante in the Rio Tocantins - Araguia basin to the north. Cavalcante is east of the Serra da Mesa Reservoir, the largest by surface water and reservoir storage volume of Goiás. Climate and vegetation

The climate is typically tropical semi- humid, with high temperatures in summer to 30 ° C with a humidity of 60 -70 % and heavy rainfall. In the winter dryness and drought prevails with a duration of four to five months. The vegetation is characterized by cerrado ecosystem.

Tourism
