Caveman

The caveman or troglodyte (Greek τρωγλοδύτης " Cavemen ") is a long -kept mirage from the men of the past, especially of the last ice age.

Today it is clear that the Paleolithic hunter-gatherers who preferred primary open storage spaces and sought out caves only to cultic purposes. In the Upper Paleolithic caves were important cult centers, such as the Frankokantabrische cave art with its cave paintings in the caves of Lascaux, Altamira or Niaux and their sculptures identifies which show no trace of primitiveness, but regarded as the first peak of human art. An origin of contemptuous classification of the cavemen is expected to be in the image of man, especially of certain colonial 19th century, which considered all non- European, non-modernity as inferior.

Colloquially, the term caveman is applied to people with pronounced bad manners.
