Cavenago d'Adda

Cavenago d' Adda is a municipality with 2226 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Province of Lodi in the Italian region Lombardy.

History

Already settled in Roman times, Cavenago d' Adda belonged to the Bishop of Lodi (X century), and later became a fief of the family of Fissiraga ( 1297-1482 ), Bocconi of Mozzanica, and finally the Cavenaghi Clerici. The village was the village of Persia.

In the Napoleonic era (1809 ) was summarized Cavenago the community Robecco. The place was 1816 again selbstándig.

In 1863 Cavneago took the official name Cavenago d' Adda, in order to distinguish themselves from Cavenago di Brianza.

In 1869, the municipality Cavenago d' Adda were summarized and the communities Caviaga Soltarico.

In 1937, the town of Persia, passed some time on the right bank of the Adda in response to a flood, was assigned in the municipality of Casaletto Ceredano.

After the Second World War, important reserves of natural gas were discovered in the village of AGIP Caviaga.
