A Cay (English cay, caye or key [ ki ː ]; Spanish and Portuguese cayo ) is a small, flat island composed of sand and coral deposits.

The term Cay ( or Caye ) often carry Caribbean islands, such as Caye Caulker in Belize. The Bahamas are 2400 cays, such as Rum Cay. But even some coral islands of the Great Barrier Reef in Australia is called Cays.

Better known are the cays that make up the island chain of the Florida Keys in the U.S. state of Florida, about Key West.
