Caye Chapel

Caye Chapel is an island off the coast of Belize. It is part of the Belize District. The island is privately owned.

Caye Chapel is one of the 450 islands of the Belize Barrier Reef. It is located 26 km northeast of Belize City and five kilometers south of Caye Caulker. The historical Spanish name is Cayo Capilla.

The island has a runway for aircraft, one of Patrick Horvat ( Tea Time International Inc.) designed 18 - hole golf course ( the only one in Belize) and a resort with conference rooms. Resort and golf course were built by the U.S. coal magnate Larry Addington, who logged 2012 personal bankruptcy on 26 January. Currently (as of 2013) is the island ( during operation ) for sale.
