Cayetano Paderanga, Jr.

Cayetano " Dondon " Paderanga, Jr. is a Filipino economist, university teachers, bank managers and politicians.

Biography

After visiting the Fatima College of Camiguin, he studied accounting at the De La Salle University in Manila and graduated in 1968. A later post-graduate studies in economics at Stanford University, he finished 1979 with a Philosophiae Doctor ( Ph.D.).

He was appointed professor of economics at the University of the Philippines ( UP) later. As such, he has been dealing with the issues of economics, banking, finance and banking, as well as with the infrastructure in the Philippine development.

In 1990 he was appointed by President Corazon Aquino to the Director General of the Ministry of National Economy and Development ( National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA ) ) and has held this position until the end of Aquino's term of office in June 1992. Afterwards it was between 1993 and 1999 a member of the Panel on monetary policy of the central bank ( Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP ) ) and addressed during this time as a writer with the liberalization of financial policy in the Philippines and ASEAN. Then he returned as professor back to the UP.

After working as an Executive Director for the Philippines in the Asian Development Bank ( ADB) 2001-2003 he was again a professor of economics at the University of the Philippines. He was also chairman of the Institute for Development and Econometric Analysis ( Institute for Development & Econometric Analysis ). In this capacity, he sat down in an article in the Philippine Daily Inquirer newspaper critical of the economic policies of the government of President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo apart.

After the elections in the Philippines in 2010 Dondon Paderanga was on June 30, 2010 by President Benigno Aquino III. also Director General of the Ministry of National Economy and development, and at the same time the Secretary of Socioeconomic Planning ( Socio-economic Planning Secretary ) appointed to his cabinet.

Through his assumption of office is also expected that the NEDA future again amplified to the expert knowledge of professors of UP and its economics faculty ( UP School of Economics ) relies, as 1986-2002, with Professor Solita ' Winnie ' Monsod, Dante Canlas Felipe Medalla and Cielito Habito.
