CCMP
CCMP or Counter-Mode/CBC-MAC protocol is IEEE 802.11i a cryptography algorithm. The full name is the Counter Mode with Cipher Block Chaining Message Authentication Code Protocol.
CCMP is based on the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). It is used with a 48-bit initialization vector, a 128 -bit long keys.
Components of CCMP
- The CM ( Counter Mode ) component causes the encryption of data.
- CBC - MAC (Cipher Block Chaining Message Authentication Code ) takes over the integrate and authenticating the data.
CCMP and RSN
Unlike WRAP (Wireless Robust Authenticated Protocol) CCMP prescribes to use the RSN (Robust Secure Network ).
