Ce'Cile

Ce'Cile, born Cecile Charlton ( born February 24, 1977 in Manchester Parish, Jamaica ) is a musician from Kingston, which is one of the most well-known current interpreters of Jamaican dancehall.

Biography

Ce'Cile grew up in Jamaica initially Porus and Mile Gully on, then spent most of her youth in Mandeville, where her grandfather had previously been mayor.

Ce'Cile came by a friend of her father, Michael " Ibo " Cooper of the reggae band Third World to music and took him with their first single, Beat Of Her Heart on. From the classic reggae they then shifted their style in the direction of Dancehall. In 1995, Steven Ventura, owner of Celestial Sound Recordings, attentive to her. In the following years she worked for Ventura as a studio manager and took on more demo tapes. As a background vocalist she has performed with various bands. She wrote and produced songs with artists such as Jah Mason & Chrisinti.

Your first big success came with the single Ce'Cile Can You Do the Work by Sean Paul in 2001, which later appeared on his album Dutty rock (Atlantic Records), which sold in the United States over two million copies, and a Grammy was excellent. In 2003 she signed a contract with Delicious Vinyl Records, but where you are not given the opportunity to record his own album. Instead, she released singles in collaborations with other artists. In 2005, she left the label and toured with T.O.K. in Europe.

Their first album then appeared in 2008 in Kingstone Records: Bad Gyal, the first dancehall album that has ever been discussed in the German Playboy. In addition, a promotional photo of Ce'Cile was shown as a Playmate but she did not appear. In 2009 they had their second album Waiting in Danger Zone / SoBe Entertainment.

They also released together with DJ Fresh Gold Dust.

Ce'Cile is internationally known today. Their albums are sold including in Germany and in Japan. As a guest singer, she is represented, among others, on singles by Sean Paul, Carl Henry, Mono & Nikitaman and D-Flame.
