CEA-Leti: Laboratoire d'électronique des technologies de l'information

CEA- Leti ( Laboratoire d' electronique of technologies de l'information ) is a research institute of Electronics and Information Technology, headquartered in Grenoble. It is one of the largest institutes for applied research in microelectronics and nanotechnologies in France.

History

CEA- Leti has become established in 1967 in Grenoble as a subsidiary of the Commissariat à l' énergie Atomique et aux énergies alternative (CEA ). Every year about 250 patents from CEA- Leti have since been registered. The Institute manages about 1700 inventions that are protected by patents. The Institute employs 1,200 people, educates 220 students and takes 200 members from research and industrial partners. It has production lines for 200 mm and 300 mm wafers, 11,000 m² clean room laboratories and equipment for the study of nanotechnology, chemistry, biology, and photonics.

Tasks

The Institute's mission consists of providing innovation, it is forwarded to the industry, which is to through the development of technologies and products to improve the quality of life worldwide. Leti operates by helping companies to bridge the gap between fundamental research and end products. Also helps Leti in the creation of new businesses by providing its partners with intellectual property and so creates a performance advantage.
