Cecilia Wikström

Cecilia Wikström ( born October 17, 1965 in Svanstein, Övertorneå ) is a Swedish politician of the liberal Folkpartiet nutrition (FP) and Member of the European Parliament.

Life

Wikström studied theology at Uppsala University, where she received her Masters in 1993. She had then until 2002 as curate various positions in the Church of Sweden, among other things, as a university and prison pastor and as a member of the Chapter of the Cathedral of Uppsala.

Wikström in 1998 was elected to the provincial legislature of Uppsala County. In the Swedish general election in 2002, it reached a mandate in the Swedish Parliament, which she defended in 2006. It belonged there in the committees for cultural as well as for foreign affairs and campaigned especially for the freedom of expression in Sweden and worldwide. Since 2001, she also heads a consulting firm, since 2002 she has been a member of the Swedish National Commission for UNESCO.

In the European elections in Sweden in 2009, she joined as a list of the third parties FP and reached a seat in the European Parliament, for which she gave up her seat in the Reichstag. In the European Parliament they closed like all FP members of the liberal ALDE group. She is a member of the Committee on Legal Affairs and the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs. As a deputy she is in the following delegations: - Delegation to the Parliamentary Cooperation Committee EU-Moldova - Delegation to the ACP -EU - Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly EURO- NEST

Wikström has published two books: 2004 appeared När livet går sönder on crisis management, in 2006 I tecken tilli least in which they processed based on the experience of a stroke, which left her blind in one eye.

Wikström is twice divorced and has two sons.
