The adults fly from June to July and are attracted to the light.
Way of life
The larvae feed in the spring inside a needle of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) or the coastal pine ( Pinus contorta ). Work your way here from the needle base to the needle tip before and after eating in a slight cocoon outside on. The caterpillars pupate on the ground in a white cocoon. The doll is initially colored green and darkens over time.
