CEDRAC

CEDRAC (Centre de documentation et de recherches arabes chrétiennes ) is the abbreviated name of the Research and Documentation Centre for Arab Christianity. It is the Université Saint -Joseph, Beirut - Aschrafija affiliated.

The internationally renowned center for researchers and budding scientists was founded in 1986 by Samir Khalil Samir and annexed in 1996 to the Université Saint -Joseph.

The center has more than 23,000 books and multimedia units. The disciplines are history, philosophy, philology, natural sciences and religious studies: Christian, Islamic and other religions of the region with a focus on Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Palestine and Egypt. The literature in several languages, including documents relating to these religions from their origin up to the present time. In addition, seminars and conferences are organized and produced publications and edited.

The CEDRAC sees himself in the tradition of Louis Cheikho researchers and Georg Graf, who worked in the late 19th and early 20th century, this area in Beirut.
