Cédric Wermuth

Cédric Wermuth ( born February 19, 1986 in Jegenstorf; homeland justified in Eggiwil and Ceola di Giovo ) is a Swiss politician (SP).

Political career

Wermuth is a member of the Young Socialists since 1999. From 2003 to 2005 he was Co - President of the Young Socialists Aargau cantonal section and 2005-2007 General Secretary of the Young Socialists Switzerland. From the 7th June 2008, he was the president of the Young Socialist Party Switzerland. He also was a member of the Board of SP Baden.

Cédric Wermuth was elected in October 2008 at the Congress of the SP Switzerland in Aarau to succeed Silvia Schenker in the vice-presidency of the SP Switzerland. His election took place with 214 against 168 votes. Wermuth announced 21 August 2011 to his resignation from the vice - presidency of the SP Switzerland at the end of November 2011. On March 8, 2009 Cédric Wermuth missed election to the Aargau cantonal parliament, but was on 25 October of the same year with 1004 votes in the Einwohnerrat the city of Baden (City Council ) elected.

He gave 4 September 2010 his resignation as party president of the Young Socialists Switzerland until March 2011. His successor the Lucerne Cantonal David Roth was chosen.

In the parliamentary elections of October 23, 2011 Cédric Wermuth was chosen by the Aargau voters with 40'775 votes in the National Council.

Political Profile

Wermuth is a member of the Partito Democratico in Italy, the traffic clubs in Switzerland, the trade unions and VPOD Unia and other left - green organizations. Between 2004 and 2008 he represented the SP in the Regierungsrätlichen Youth Commission of the Canton of Aargau. He is assigned to the left wing of the Social Democrats.

Cédric Wermuth grew up in Bünzen and Boswil, where he attended primary school. After that, he was a high school student in Wohlen. Today he lives in Baden. He is a Swiss-Italian citizens.

Wermuth studied political science, social and economic history and philosophy at the University of Zurich. From 2007 to 2008 he was special assistant to the then National Council and present the Aargau Cantonal Government Urs Hofmann.
