CEE Stock Exchange Group

The CEE Stock Exchange Group ( CEESEG ) is a holding company, composed of the stock exchanges of Vienna, Budapest, Ljubljana and Prague. The holding company is responsible for the strategic and financial management and the management of investments, the operating business is performed by the four subsidiaries.

It is the main stock trading platform for the Central and Eastern European region. According to self- assessment attributable to the four stock exchanges together about half of the total market capitalization and about two -thirds of all retail sales in the CEE region and the CEE Stock Exchange Group is thus the largest player among the stock exchanges in Central and Eastern Europe.

The CEESEG arose as a final product of a series of acquisitions of Central European stock exchanges by the Vienna Stock Exchange after the fall of the Iron Curtain. The bought- exchanges, which were first held directly as holdings of the Vienna Stock Exchange, were 2010 equal subordinated to the former parent company of the newly created holding company.

For the CEE Stock Exchange Group two indices are calculated: CEESEG Traded Index ( CEETX ) and CEESEG Composite Index. The CEETX is a price index that is created by the market capitalization of the 25 most actively traded stocks on the four stock exchanges, the CEESEG Composite in turn forms a kind of average of the four individual stock market indices ATX, BUX, PX and SBITOP.
