Life

Celina Chludzińska was the daughter of a rich landowner. From an early age she wanted to serve God, but married according to the wishes of her parents Joseph Borzęcki. When her husband died in 1874 after a long illness, Celina was alone with her two daughters Celina and Hedwig. In 1875 the young widow and her children came to Rome to receive from God an indication of their future life. There she devoted herself of her small apartment for a variety of social services in their neighborhood, under the guidance of Father Peter Semenenko, a local Resurrection.

Finally Celina founded with her daughter Hedwig ( Jadwiga ) and five other women a religious community, which is modeled on the spirituality of the Resurrection and especially had the training and promotion of women in mind. The community was officially confirmed on January 6, 1891.

1887 opened the sisters a school for poor girls in Rome. The sisters are now working in the education, nursing, and pastoral care. Since 1900, they also in Chicago.

Celina Borzecka was beatified in St. John Lateran Basilica in Rome on October 27, 2007. The Holy See confirms that mother Celina has led a life that can be a model for Christians. Your Memorial Day in the liturgy will be October 26.
