Cellulitis

Cellulite is in medical terminology for inflammation of the subcutaneous tissue. In the German -speaking world there is this rather the concept of cellulitis, in contrast to the Anglo- American world, where it is rather spoken of cellulite. The term is often incorrectly used for cellulite.

Children are particularly affected by this disease. Usually the face is affected. Inflammation is caused by bacteria and, therefore causally treated with an antibiotic. Mostly it is to be

  • Haemophilus influenzae
  • Hemolytic streptococci of group B
  • Pneumococci.
