Cem Kızıltuğ

Cem Kızıltuğ (* April 16 1974 in Istanbul) is a Turkish illustrator, cartoonist and caricaturist.

Life

Cem Kızıltuğ grew up in Istanbul, where he studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Marmara University. He completed his studies in 1997 and has since worked as an illustrator, cartoonist and caricaturist for the Turkish national daily newspaper Zaman. Kızıltuğs work has been shown at art exhibitions in the years 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2002 in İzmir Efes Celcus Library in Izmir. A selection of his illustrations, cartoons and caricatures from the Zaman was published under the title C'empati 2003, followed in 2009, the band Alegorik Gri. In 2005 he was awarded by the Turkish Writers' Union as a cartoonist of the year. In 2007 he developed the comic strip series Mr. diplomat who regularly since then in the English-language daily Today's Zaman (title the Sunday edition: Sunday 's Zaman ) - a sister publication of Zaman - appears.

In addition Kızıltuğ illustrated numerous, mostly Turkish-speaking children's books, such as, among others, from 2005 to 2009 for the Sakip Sabanic Museum (Turkish Sakıp Sabancı Muzesi) in Istanbul as well as for Turkish publishers, such as the Yapi Kredi Culture and Art Publishing House (Turkish Yapi Kredi Kültür Sanat Yayincilik Ticaret ve Sanayi AS) and the Timas Publishing Group (Turkish Timas Yayinlari ). From 2006 to 2010 he won at the annual design competition of the international Society for News Design (SND ) a total of 10 Awards of Excellence and a silver award.

Cem Kızıltuğ is married.
