Čeněk of Wartenberg

Vinzenz von Wartenberg (also Vincent the younger von Wartenberg, Czech Čeněk z Vartemberka; † September 17, 1425 in Jitschin ), was Colonel Viscount of Bohemia.

Life

Vinzenz von Wartenberg came from the same noble family Wartenberg. 1408-1414 he was the cupbearer of the Roman-German and Czech King Wenceslas and then Colonel Viscount of Bohemia yard. After the death of the nobleman Henry III. Rosenberg 1412 to 1420 he took over the guardianship of the not yet of legal age son Ulrich von Rosenberg.

Vinzenz von Wartenberg first belonged to the representatives of the Bohemian nobility, who confessed to the teaching of the reformer Jan Hus. 1415 he initiated the protest, with the combustion of the reformer was denounced. At the beginning of the Hussite wars, he stood at the head of Calixtins, a moderate flow of the Hussites, but changed the face of the atrocities of radical encampments in May / June 1420 on the side of King Sigismund.

After the death of Wenceslas IV, he supported his widow Queen Sophie of Bavaria. In 1420 he signed a manifesto against the coronation of Sigismund. Vinzenz von Wartenberg was married since about 1408 to Catherine of country rock ( Kateřina z Landštejna ) .. She inherited after the death of her father William ( Vilem ) in 1398, the castle Lipnice with the same rule Lipnice, which came after her early death at Vinzenz von Wartenberg.
