Centenary Quaich

The Centenary Quaich (see Quaich ) is a trophy in the sport of rugby union, which is awarded to the winner of the match between Scotland and Ireland in the wake of the Six Nations tournament annually. The trophy has been awarded since 1989, although both teams have already played 128 matches so far. The first meeting took place in 1877 and ended 6-0 for Scotland. First winner of the trophy was the Scottish team that won with 37:21 on March 4, 1989. The Irish team was able to finish only in 2000 with a 44:22 in Dublin, the Scottish dominance.

Total of 14 times Scotland won the trophy. Currently, the Centenary Quaich is owned by Ireland, with a 28:6 in Dublin celebrated the 12th Cup victory on February 2, 2014.
