Central American Football Union

The Unión Centroamericana de Fútbol (Central American Football Union ), better known by the acronym Copa Centroamericana, is a consortium of Central American Football Associations: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. All associations are also members of the governing body CONCACAF.

The Copa Centroamericana cares about the alignment of different football competitions that mainly serve as qualifiers for the CONCACAF competitions. The most important competition at national level is the Central American Cup, which is used for the CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifying tournament as

At club level, the Inter Clubes Copa Copa Centroamericana was held until 2007, in the Central American representatives for the CONCACAF Champions League were determined. Last winner was CD Motagua of Honduras. Since there is no club competition in the Copa Centroamericana more. The teams from the member countries are eligible to play immediately for the CONCACAF Champions League.
