National Bank of the Armenian SSR

The Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia (Armenian Հայաստանի Կենտրոնական Բանկ, in scientific transliteration Hayastani Kentronakan Bank ) is the central Reserve Bank of Armenia.

After the declaration of independence from the Soviet Union on 21 September 1991, was the National Bank of the Armenian SSR, who now perceived the new role as National Bank of Armenia. On 27 March 1993, the Law on the Central Bank of the new Republic of Armenia was adopted. 1993, the dram was introduced as the new currency. The central bank is pursuing a flexible exchange rate policy, and focuses on the fight against inflation.
