Central Coast Rhinos

The Central Coast Rhinos are a semi-professional Australian Hockey Club of Erina, New South Wales, who played from 2005 to 2008 in the Australian Ice Hockey League.

History

The club was incorporated in 2005 as Blue Haven and Rhino Established in the wake of the expansion of the Australian Ice Hockey League from six to eight teams, along with the Gold Coast Blue Tongues in the highest Australian Hockey League. After the sponsorship deal with the company Blue Haven Pools expired before the 2007 season, the club changed its name and is running since then as Central Coast Rhinos. The biggest rivalry to the Newcastle North Stars because of proximity. Before the 2009 season, the Australian Ice Hockey League Rhons the left in protest against the new, more stringent licensing requirements. For 2009 is not yet is determined to participate in what league the team, but the Rhinos already won the Wilson Cup, a warm-up tournament the best Australian Hockey Teams.
