Central Organisation of the Workers of Sweden

Sveriges Arbetares Central Organisation ( SAC) is a Swedish, syndicalist union with anarcho -syndicalist roots. It was formed in 1910 by workers who were dissatisfied with the organization and policy of the Swedish Trade Union Confederation LO. The SAC supported after the Second World War, the Federation libertarian socialists ( FfS ) in Germany.

SAC today consists of local groups with strong local autonomy, is headquartered in Stockholm, however. The highest decision-making body is the Congress, which meets every four years. Between the meetings will be decided on important issues through a referendum among the members. In addition, there is a directly elected Central Committee and elected by the Congress Working Committee, which handles the current transactions. 2004 the union had about 7,500 members.
