Centralne Warsztaty Samochodowe, short CWS, was a Polish manufacturer of automobiles.

Company History

The company from Warsaw began in 1920 with the production of automobiles. The brand name was CWS. 1931 production ended after about 800 copies produced.

Rolling stock

1920 created 20 vehicles based on the Ford Model T. 1922 developed the designer Tadeusz Tański a four cylinder engine with OHV valve timing, 2985 cc displacement and 45 hp, which was tested in 1923 in vehicles from Dodge.

In 1925, a car of their own design, under the model name of the CWS T-1 as the first Polish car went into series production in 1927. The four-cylinder engine with 3000 cc capacity made ​​61 hp. The gearbox had four speeds.

1930, a three prototypes of the CWS T-8 with eight-cylinder in-line engine, 2964 cc displacement and 80 hp in the body forms two-seater roadster, four-seat touring car as well as a closed Faux Cabriolet.

Also in 1930 the CWS T-2 was presented. This model had halved the engine from the CWS T -8.
