Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève

The Centre d' Art Contemporain Genève ( CAC) was established in 1974 as an exhibition space for contemporary art.

It was the first facility of its kind in the Suisse Romande, the French-speaking Switzerland, and has hosted more than 300 exhibitions to date ( 2011). 2010 took over the CAC, the tasks of the former Centre pour l' Image Contemporaine (CIC ), which was set up in 1985 to show exhibitions and events that deal both with new technologies such as video, multimedia and the Internet as well as photography and film.

In addition to the exhibitions of works by international artists such as Joseph Beuys and William Kentridge also works by contemporary Swiss artists such as Olaf Breuning, Pipilotti Rist, Ugo Rondinone, Valentin Carron and Philippe Decrauzat were shown.
